Chris Kaman to Play in All-Star Game

Posted by TheCalmInsanity under TCN Blog

Per ESPN:

Chris Kaman, 2010 All-Star

Chris Kaman, 2010 All-Star.

Chris Kaman was named to replace Brandon Roy this year for the All-Star game- who was out with an injured hamstring and decided to skip this year’s All-Star game. Chris Kaman is averaging 20.2 points, 9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists- while having an EFF of +20.50. This will be Chris Kaman’s first career All-Star game appearance. Although Kaman had a chance to be a reserve for the All-Star game, he was snubbed by Pau Gasol who had barely played for the whole season due to injuries. After he found out he was snubbed, he got injured and was snubbed again (perhaps because of his injury?) when Chris Paul got injured and decided not to play in the All-Star game. David Stern chooses the injury replacements, and for Chris Paul he chose Chauncey Billups of the Denver Nuggets- who is having yet another spectacular season. This second injury, Brandon Roy, finally catapulted Kaman to All-Star status.

Kim Hughes’ First Test as Coach

Kim Hughes- new coach

Alright guys, I’ll be brutally honest but I’m not going to bother looking up stats and stuff for this game. I’m very tired from a long day and still have lots of work to do, this Clipper game really set me back. That being said- I’ll still give you an analysis of the game. I’ll recap what went wrong, what actions should be taken to improve, and the positives we can take from this game. I like Kim Hughes’ style, although tonight it drove me crazy. However- I do see potential, at least until the end of this season. Until then, I’ll be rooting for him to get the team clicking. (Keep reading)

Baron Davis Interview About Coaching Change

Posted by TheCalmInsanity under TCN Blog

An interview from Baron Davis about playing for Kim Hughes, how he feels about Dunleavy not being coach, and if he wants Hughes to be the permanent coach.

Great interview by Baron Davis.. I really enjoyed watching this one. Baron made a lot of sense. He did everything… From defending Dunleavy the most that he could, all the way to talking about the sacrifices the team made. (Keep reading for my full opinion on this interview)

Chris Kaman Interview About Coaching Change

Posted by TheCalmInsanity under TCN Blog

Chris Kaman’s thoughts and opinions on the coaching change, and how he feels about Kim Hughes becoming head coach.

I always like hearing Chris Kaman being interviewed, because he likes to speak his mind and isn’t afraid of being too upfront and revealing about his true feelings. What we can gather from Kaman’s interview is that he is legitimately happy for Kim Hughes being coach. At one point you think he’s going to say that he feels sorry for Dunleavy- but instead he says that he’s very excited to see how this is going to unfold. Other things I noticed… (keep reading)

Dunleavy out as coach, will retain GM duties

Posted by TheCalmInsanity under TCN Blog

I guess consecutive losses to the worst team in the East and the worst team in the West was enough for Donald Sterling to fire Mike Dunleavy.

Listening to AM 710, I knew this happened before any of the big sources released it. J.A Adande was brought on the radio to confirm it, as a credible source… Mike Dunleavy will remain GM of the Clippers but the coach will now be Kim Hughes. Will he be the permanent coach or the interim coach? Most probably the interim coach. My guess is that the Clippers will be looking to find a better coach such as Byron Scott, but might save that for the offseason.

Dunleavy fired!

Update: Kim Hughes WILL be coach for the rest of the season. Like I said, they’ll be looking for a new coach this summer.
