One would think just losing to the Nets, breaking their 11 game losing streak, would instantly make you say that it’s the lowest point in the season. No team in the league wanted to lose to the Nets, much less lose to them by a double digit margin.
So what do the Clippers do after embarrassing themselves in front of the Nets, the worst team in the East? They embarrass themselves in front of the Timberwolves, the worst team in the West.
They didn’t just lose to these teams, they lost to them by double digit scores. And all this with Eric Gordon back in the lineup. Sure, Kaman was missing against the Timberwolves.. But Kaman has not been playing his sharpest basketball as of late, and the Clippers have more than enough weapons to put the worst team in the West away. Instead they play unmotivated basketball (with the exception of Camby and Baron, who scored 23 points in the 3rd quarter alone).
This team has given up on the coaching staff. You can see it in their eyes, and in their defense. You can see it in their effort, they just don’t seem to want to play. This is very bad because it’s a big knock on their characters. Players are supposed to play through every situation, good or bad. Their contracts don’t say anything about not playing well when you’re losing anyways. You suck it up and play.. But some players are not understanding that and giving it their all.
Well, change is imminent.. Whether that means change in the coaching staff or change in the roster, any change is welcome right now. Why? Because change will at least be refreshing for the players, and hopefully spark some interest in them and hopefully lead to some wins.
